In Lithuania there us one province of the Order of Friars Minor with the name of St. Casimir. There are five franciscan monasteries of the province in Lithuania, three of their churches being parishes. There are five local Youfra fraternities (in Vilnius, Kretinga, Klaipeda, Telsiai and Kaunas) constituting the national fraternity. The roots of franciscan youth in Lithuania were started in Kretinga in 1995 with a creation of the Franciscan Youth Ministry (PJT). On the 8th of July 2006 was big day for lithuanian YouFra. The national statute was passed and the first national council was elected.
