Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you for registering for the upcoming V European Franciscan Youth Congress which will take place in Lithuania in August 2009. In order to organize the Congress as well as we can, we would like to give you some basic information that will help both you and us.
The main information necessary for administration team of the Congress is listed in the application form. Please fill in the application form and make sure to send it back by official e-mail: jaupra@gmail.com before 1st June 2009.
Please check if participants of your home country need visas to enter Lithuania. We encourage you to register as early as possible so we could help you to receive visa, if needed.
Participant’s offering of the V European Franciscan Youth Congress is EUR 200 per person. Participation fee includes all expenses during the meeting, except insurance (please take care of it in your home country!) and travel expenses to Lithuania and back to your country.
You can pay this fee when you arrive to the Congress or you can transfer the participation fee in advance. Please indicate the purpose of bank payment (for example – European Youfra Congress, group from Ireland).

Although the total amount of participation is EUR 200 per person, we do not want the fee to be a barrier for you to come to this fraternal meeting. If there are any difficulties to pay the total amount, please let us know as soon as possible, so the organizers could think how to solve it.
The group of each country should consist of six members: five young persons and one spiritual assistant (brother or sister). Your group should represent not only individual fraternities but also the whole National Youfra fraternity, unless it is from a country where Youfra is not yet established. The groups from countries where Youfra does not exist yet or is not organized as a National fraternity, should come with at least one clerical person or SFO leader instead of spiritual assistant in order to get acquainted with and gain experience in Youfra work.
If you are interested to come in a larger group, please let us know as soon as you can. We will keep it in mind and let you know if free places can be offered after a closing of the official registration.
When you are thinking about what to bring, we recommend you consider including the following:
- Bible
- Sleeping bag
- Toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, comb, brush, hand and bath towels etc.)
- Sun hat, umbrella or rain coat and comfortable walking shoes
- Swimming clothing
- Photo camera to save wonderful memories from Lithuania
- A bigger size national flag
- National souvenirs (sweets, cards, key rings, etc.) to rejoice friends and host families
Things to Prepare:
- Worship song in your native language (please send us the lyrics and chords with a registration form)
- A very short and fun presentation (song, dance, game etc.) of your national fraternity for the Evening of Nations (3-5 min.)
- A short testimony about Youfra life in your country for the sharing about the future of European Youfra (8-10 min.)
Your first accomodation will take place at the retreat centre Trinapolis in Vilnius (the capital of Lithuania). Please look at directions.htm for the directons which could be helpful if you arrive by car.
